Fall 2020 Class Descriptions

Kinder Expressions

Students will be introduced to fundamental dance techniques. Self expression is encouraged as children glide, hop, skip, and leap across the dance floor. Listening skills, rhythm, and memorization skills are developed. Please wear appropriate dance attire such as leotards along with dance skirts, jazz shorts, or leggings. Please no baggy clothing or long skirts/dresses. Students should have their hair pulled back into ponytails.

Mini Jazz Dance

Make friends, explore movement, and develop dance skills. Dancers will learn the basics of jazz dance through fun activities and dance combinations. Simple jazz movements that children can easily execute are taught. Emphasis is placed on rhythm, basic technique, locomotor skills and coordination. Please wear appropriate dance attire such as leotards along with dance skirts, jazz shorts, or leggings. Please no baggy clothing or long skirts/dresses. Students should have their hair pulled back into ponytails.

Jazz

One of the most popular styles of dance! Our jazz classes are high energy classes that focus on technique and musicality. These one-hour classes work through a detailed warm-up, across the floor techniques, and combos. Dancers will learn skills in leaps, turns, and jumps. Our Stretch and Condition class is a highly recommended supplement!

Lyrical

Lyrical dance uses the mood of the music to bring out the movements from the dancers. This class will consist of a warm-up and include across the floor progressions and center combinations. The mixture of jazz and lyrical will make for a powerful, yet graceful class. Our Stretch and Condition class is a highly recommended supplement!

Hip Hop

Hip-hop dance is a high-energy high impact style of dance. This energetic and fast-paced dance class will help students develop rhythm, musicality, coordination, and focus while having fun. Our Stretch and Condition class is a highly recommended supplement!

Stretch and Condition

This class is for the dancer who is serious about giving extra attention to improving their dance skills.This class is a combination of deep stretching and body conditioning. The class is heavy in cardio to increase endurance for the dancer. The class includes several arms, abdominal, and leg exercises to strengthen the entire body. Strong muscles are vital for protecting the body and of course improving dance skills! Healthy muscles are important to let you move freely and keep your body strong.
